Consent to Civil Partnership
You cannot enter into a civil partnership until you are 16 years old.
A notice of formation can be taken where one or both parties is 15 as long as both have turned 16 on or before the date the superintendent registrar’s certificate is due to be issued (i.e. 28 days after notices have been given) and appropriate consent has been given.
Before the appointment with the registrar, parent(s) or guardian(s) must sign a consent to civil partnership form for any party who is under the age of 18.
